It's 24 Karats of Bling Bilng

Someone, somewhere, somehow leaked this on the internet. I figured that seeing as I'm last to write about it I might as well tell you about some of the unique features of this system. The OMEN 24K is a 24 Karat Gold Plated Luxury PC, featuring only the best of breed components on the market. Starting with the liquid cooler, even the blocks are hand picked. We use the best motherboard from ASUS, AMD Athlon 64 FX or Dual Core processor, and limited edition memory. We're shipping the OMEN 24K in a metal travel box (which also has wheels to make it easy to move around).

We're not sparing any expense on this beast, it's available now to pre-order, and it will be listed on our site in short order.

Very good looking, though it seems like an overkill. If I win the lottery, we'll be in contact ;)

How about a non-bling version of that bad boy?

Uhm...is this for real?! Who the hell would pay for something like that...greedy Oil Sheikhs, perhaps? :-P

Anonymous said...

Wow, well Hell why not I guess. I suppose it'll be outdated in 3 years, but it should work for 6 anyway. I'm thinking $8,000-$10,000? :/

24KARAT GOLD PLATED!

its not gold its just plated like that cheap tacky looking jewelry you see on the market. why waste your money?

Anonymous said...

If the case was pure gold it would buckle really easily.

I hope the water blocks are made from solid silver instead of copper. :-)

Hey man, if this is how some people like to floss, then who are we to argue with them? It is indeed 24 karat plated, but it's not cheap by any means, it's very nice looking if you're down with Gold.

I wanna to be the support geek for the consumer of this bling. I think $700/hr would be the correct rate. easy stuff to fix and lots of billable hours :)

It's not even real...look at which side of the case the motherboard is on...is everything upside-down in the back?

That's the formfactor of the case stupid.

Have you people even looked at the VoodooPC website?

The Omen comes in many other colors with a standard black brushed and annodized aluminum version.

The parts are put "upside down" for better airflow its called "BTX".

The person who writes this blog is the owner of the company that makes these PC's, he isn't lying...

LOL this is getting pretty funny!!

Interesting point of it being BTX, but Im pretty sure its not actually BTX. IIRC Voodoo was never supporting of BTX. Heck looks like BTX is going to end up dying anyways. Silver waterblocks would be less effective at transfering heat than pure deoxygenated copper. And I'm sorry Rahul, I'm holding out for the platinum plated case, its such a superior metal.

mmschnei said...

Yeah, after pulling the stupid out of my ear it became quite obvious to me that that is definatly no BTX but rather "reverse ATX". It basically moves components to acheieve the benefits of BTX's cooling style without requiring the hundreds of millions of dollars into learning how to design for a brand new form factor all over again.

Anonymous said...

OMG, that thing is oogly.

Anonymous said...

Go for platinum next time ;)
Allso remember to put some JEWELS on it... no rapper wii buy it if it doesn't have jewels and gold teeth :)

Anonymous said...

They could not have picked the worst case.
Gold plating does not seem to be uniformly coated.
Btx looks very nice, also i like how it is designed, and it's airflow.
But what previous person said,it is missing diamonds,or rubies at least.

What a waste of time & money.

Rahul Sood said...

Well, it's certainly not for everyone, but the people who are ordering them have more spending money than they need. Obviously they aren't stupid, or they wouldn't be in the positions that they're in.

mmschnei said...

For the last time, its not BTX kids.

Oh well, and yeah tossing in some diamonds would completely ruin the absolute perfection of platinum as a metal. For those who have never actually experienced its beauty, you're missing out. I work with platinum as a catalyst for some research I am doing and let me tell you, this stuff is magic. =)

It it ain't Plat, it ain't Phat. Gold is for yesterday's fools.

mmschnei... you sound like an idiot.

that is a btx formfactor, notice the large intake and exhaust fans that are lined up. notice the opposite side case mounting of the motherboard.

also, your argument on silver or copper. Fine Silver (99.9% pure) is the worlds finest conductor of both heat and electricity, the only reason copper is used over it is because of the corrosion times that set in with each metal. granted that crappy old tarnished silver will conduct less effectively than
"Deoxygenated Copper" (ROFLCOPTER OMG LOLZ I LOVES IT!!!!111oneoneone WTFBBQKTHXBYE!), "Deoxygenated"(quoted for vitamin enriched goodness) silver is still superior. Stop flunking chemistry before you flame people on the internet.

peace.

Rahul Sood said...

Neither one of you is an “idiot” actually – you’re both sort of right. This chassis is a mix between BTX and ATX. We always thought BTX was a waste of time because AMD builds CPUs that run cooler, quieter, and faster than Intel generally speaking. Intel is now changing their roadmap so they will start building real CPUs next year rendering the idea of BTX almost useless.

This chassis incorporates the best of BTX while using an ATX motherboard. We simply reversed the layout, and flipped the board so we can keep the power supply, hard drives, and liquid cooling in their own separate chambers.

We designed this chassis from the ground up; you really have to see it to appreciate it.

Here is a link to some gallery shots of it:

An idiot eh, oh well. I suppose that when you correct some people others are bound to get upset. First of all I said it was "reverse ATX" and if do a bit of googling on that you would learn about it. If you read my complete post you would have already seen that, but its easier only to read the parts you want to flame, its ok, I understand. As far as silver goes you are correct, it is a better conductor. I suppose that this computer is already impractical so what the hell go for it. I conclude with seconding the statement of
"It it ain't Plat, it ain't Phat. Gold is for yesterday's fools."

I know what "bling" is, but what exactly is "bilng"?

Such things give me suddenly attack of communism. Who the fuck wants to pay shitload of money for rapidly aging PC in shiny gold case. That's almost as lame as 1,5 million euro wrist watch (which do nothing apart of showing time and date). There is so many cooler and more practical things to spend your cash on.

Awful, comrades, awful!

Asus sucks, and so does this ugly case... even with air cooling my rig runs faster and looks better...

I guess some people have more money than sense haha

Hardware God said...

Sounds like the last poster is an idiot if he thinks Asus sucks. Obviously you know nothing about hardware, and even though I don't like gold this is probably the best case on the market.

Anonymous said...

nrg, if you think you can build a better PC than them, start your own company stupid.

Rahul Sood said...

start your own company stupid.

Amen to that, but if he thinks ASUS sucks I'd hate to see what his system really looks like. By the way, this case is indeed the best case on the market, there is no better layout at the moment, and the next version is even better.

Keleko said...

"this case is indeed the best case on the market, there is no better layout at the moment, and the next version is even better" - Rahul

Are you designing a new layout for your cases??

Oh by the way, the gold plated Omen looks spectacular! You've got gold, now how about a silver one after you sell all of those? LoL..!

Lt.Col.Claymore / Albert said...

ASUS sucks I'd hate to see that too!

but a Blinb bling OMEN sure is something you dont see Every Day right Guy's

and $8,000-$10,000 may fit in for this pc

Still Reversing the ATX Layout
i the best i have ever seen in the last 5 year's

lucky AMD has no plant (YET) for BTX

and Voodoopc go's a Better Solution
Show's that a BTX whas not 100% needed!

so put some work on the case and youré done.

See ya all folks

that gold paint sure looks nice.

ok a bit late to the party and if i got one of these machines i'd probably have to pay someone to come in daily and wipe off my greasy fingerprints.

i thought that case was a heavily modified lian li case?

the layout is very similar.

have you sent out brochures to G-Unit? it looks like something 50 Cent might want to play Bulletproof on ;)
