Kyle Bennett said "CANUCKS!" oh my!

I just got back from riding my bike around town - I received a few emails from some fellow Canadians hating on me because I gave Kyle Bennett from [H]ardOCP props for speaking out.

I assume you guys are all friends because there's no way in heck that three separate Canadians from different walks of life could POSSIBLY be offended by something so non-offensive. Two of you referred to me as a bad Canadian, that's crazy talk. Apparently Kyle Bennett, in a fit of rage, went off on a certain Canadian company referring to their actions as “Canuck” actions. Reasonable people would assume that he didn't intend to blanket the negative part of the statement across all of Canada thereby referring to all Canadians.

Also, to the two haters who feel the word "Canuck" is offensive, allow me to educate you a little bit on Canada and the word Canuck… eh?

First off, the word “Canuck” is no more offensive than the word “Yankee”. You might have heard of this little known baseball club in the U.S.A., they’re called the “New York Yankees”. You might have seen the series last year where Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox, who by the way is a loyal Voodoo customer and big-time gamer, pitched their face off in the best baseball comeback of all time.

You might also have heard of the “NHL”. There is a team in Vancouver called the “Vancouver Canucks”. Surprisingly, if you do a Google for Canada Canucks you’ll see many occurrences of teams, news stories, actions, and much more referring to the word Canuck as both an adjective and a noun.

So take my advice, go loosen those bowties - they’re way too tight. Also think carefully before you type scathing emails. Please don't email me hate mail unless you have a valid reason to hate :)

"Canuck promises" is what's offensive, not "Canuck". Those 2 words imply that promises made by Canadians are worthless.

Yeah, that wasn't the context of two of the emails - two of them were just plain stupid. The third, perhaps, however I don't see why someone would take offense to my comment which was completely unrelated... I don't appreciate the scatching spam about something so trivial.

I take no Offense at your comment, it just misses the point.

Hopefully(though I doubt it ;) ), the e-mails weren't too harsh. I think Kyle got the "thrashing" he deserved and his response to the "thrashing" was in a word idiotic. Those who have attempted to help Kyle with a defense don't deserve the same degree of "thrashing", unless they stooped as low as Kyle did in his apparent method of defense.

Though I suppose I can't prove it, I'm the same Anon poster as above.
