UPDATE: My response to CNET Article

I have to post a quick note on the CNET article that was just published online.

"Rahul Sood, who serves as president and chief technology officer of the Canadian PC maker, said Wednesday that Intel has applied pressure in the past to change the "ratio" of Advanced Micro Devices processors to Intel chips in VooDoo systems."

Intel suggested to us more than once that we needed to change our ratio, increase our business with them or they wouldn’t be able to support us. This could be interpreted as good business rather than pressure tactics. In my case, it basically meant that if we didn’t start showing changes in our ratios (which meant we had to openly convince customers that one processor was better than the other, whether or not it was true) we wouldn’t get full support.

When Intel was working with us, they did a great job. They stopped shortly after Dell took over gaming, they basically stopped calling on us regularily. This could be because they didn’t see value in doing business with us, or perhaps because we didn't see value in any of their products. I suspect it was a bit of both, Intel really doesn't have anything to offer our customers currently other than the Pentium M (which I still believe is an amazing piece of technology). Who knows, next year might be different, but I'm still certain AMD will surprise everyone again.

It might be good business practice... but its still gives you an uneasy perspective as the constomer when you think that you might have been persuaded to buy something other than the best....

Once again proving why the gaming community goes with AMD. I got the Turion 64 in my bothers laptop and it blows the cetrino away. Personally I would be glad to see Intel go. Also what they did your business makes me like them even less.
