UPDATE: The phone is ringing off the hook

...the phone is indeed ringing off the hook, but it's not ATi on the other end. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I suspect they are speaking to investors today about their upcoming product launch. They are busy, and I totally understand what it's like to be busy.

I want to clarify my reasons for writing about the lack of availability of Crossfire. I have no intentions of "dissing" ATi or any of their products - if anything, I've been trying to build bridges with them for many months -but for whatever reason the bridge is on fire. Besides the fact that our name is being used to promote a product that we've never seen - We are also getting badgered with questions from customers asking where it is and why we don't have it. It makes VoodooPC look bad that we know nothing about a "cutting edge" product that we have supposedly qualified.

I certainly hope that ATi will address the situation in a professional manner within a reasonable period of time. Then again, I have also given them the benefit of the doubt countless times in the past and I never receive any real follow-through.

So the phone didn't ring red today – I assume they’ve read my weblog because my inbox is flooded with emails from industry people, reporters, investors, and customers - but still no ATi. I cringe with uncomfortable anticipation everytime my Blackberry buzzes.

I didn’t expect that so many sites would pick up this entry and post it, but after Kyle from HardOCP let loose it seems that others are realizing the seriousness of the situation.

Frustration is not the F word I'd like to use to describe my feelings about the situation, but I digress. I will continue to give my Canadian brethren the benefit of the doubt, there are still good people working there.

Wake up and smell the coffee guys – now is the opportunity to make things right.

This has been the biggest screw up in the industry that I've really watched closely. I can't believe that you guys would not have this stuff by now. ATI has tried to pull off that as soon as it launches, it'll be available, and failed miserably.

I cought on a website that the R520 will be showing up tomorrow (Wednesday). Let's hope they don't totally screw this one up too.

What a bunch of knobs, it looks like they have no 1800xls anywhere yet they are supposed to be launched today.

It's funny that ATI's website says that Voodoo, Falcon Northwest and Alienware all sell Crossfire systems. However, they have now dropped Voodoo from the partner products for the X1800-series cards. I don't know if it was intentional or a mistake, but either way I guess someone at ATI is watching here.

I forgot to add, none of the vendors they say sell Crossfire machines have any way to get one on their websites.
