The war of the consoles: Not much of a war – but a massive victory.
I recently wrote an article for ExtremeTech regarding the current console wars. I actually can't wait to get my hands on an XBOX 360. There's much hype, with very little competition on this particular console. I mentioned the Netflix game service which doesn't seem to be available yet. There are still other services like Gameznflix which offers both movies and games, and Gamefly which specializes in games.
There are actually many services similar to the above coming out. Zip in Canada is just introducing games and, similar to Netflix, will charge extra.

For what could possibly be the longest most non-anticipated launch in gaming history, Infinium Labs still pops up on my radar every now and then. For those of you who don’t know who Infinium is here is a brief introduction. They are a publicly traded company who has a history of raising money at various stages without actually releasing a commercial product. Understandably, creating a product from the ground up is no easy task and it’s easy to burn through money during the R&D stage. The xbox 360 IMHO is a bit underwhelming, I predict the PS3 will once again rule. Xbox will do well until the PS3 is released or until Final fantasy or some other big 3rd party game hits the system first before the PS3's release. What Microsoft needs is all the games you can 'only get on playstation'.
If you are old enough to remember when Nintendo was #1, you know the whole reason Nintendo lost was because ALL the games formerly on Nintendo moved to PS1 because you couldn't make them on N64's dinky little cartridges, if N64 had been a CD-Based system Nintendo would still have been #1, it's too bad they shot themselves in the foot with the N64 and have never recovered since.
Alright fellows, before you get excited, just remember the worst games consoles ever released. To read more about the worst games consoles ever vist my blog at:
