Nvidia could have passed out a new version of these pills to their partners in order to keep us from falling in love with ATi Crossfire. Instead, they decided to launch something flat out crazy. The Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 512 is going to spank every video card on the market. While I’d love to share the official specs, it’s not really official yet, therefore I can’t leak out the details, though you can probably search and find them somewhere. Truth be told, I am very excited about this card, and we will be launching our own SS edition with full liquid cooling capabilities.
So to be clear, this 512 meg version isn't just an extra 256 megabytes of frame buffer. There's some serious meat behind the madness, and we'll have stock on launch!
On that note, I found some interesting news while surfing the net today. ATi may have made a recommendation to their board partners to up the anti on their X1800XT cards. As I originally suspected ATi was able to produce their X1800XT cards in volume by lowering their clock speeds slightly. Their yields are so good that they are suggesting to board partners to up the anti a bit by increasing the shipping frequency of their boards by 25MHz. They also suggested to increase their memory frequency by an additional 25MHz. Considering ATi is working with a 90 nanometer process this would suggest to me that this board is highly flexible. So perhaps under the right conditions this card might be compelling. That’s some interesting news, I found the link from our friends at Hexus.net.
That being said, exactly HOW did Nvidia manage to get the performance on the 7800 GTX 512 as high as they did? Just how much EPO are they feeding their engineers?

Wow! 7800 GTX 512 now that is crazy! However, the only crunch is $$$.
Just out of curiosity what do you look for in any employment possibility. Only wondering since I would love to work with the technology I love (not to mention the innovation that Voodoo provides). I wish to be part of it someday...maybe.
