Voodoo Launches ATi Crossfire!

I'm at CES at the moment so I've been unable to update the blog. I just thought I'd point out that we finally launched ATi Crossfire yesterday.

Believe it or not, after the big 2005 fiasco with ATi, they actually came around in a big way. They not only listened to everything we said, but they made some changes within their organization to strengthen our relationship.

I also have had a chance to peek at their next generation, and let's just say it looks like ATi is back on the rails.

That being said, we launched Crossfire on an ASUS motherboard featuring the latest chipset from ATi. We chose the launch only with the X1800XT Crossfire. I will be throwing up a few more CES updates as the show progresses.

[death of the 228] With the launch of the Crossfire, I thought I'd ask you a quick question about the 228 and any upcoming featherweights you see being released by Voodoo. I was crushed yesterday to find that moments before I was to purchase a fully loaded a:228, it was discontinued! Anyway...I've heard you use/used a 228 and wanted to know your thoughts on the model and what things you have in store for your next featherweight, whenever it may be. I got an itchy trigger finger since I first visited your site a month and a half ago and I have had a wonderful experience dealing with VoodooPC in my time...but would really like to become a VoodooPC owner -- that said, I want the right computer for me. Sorry for the off-topicness of this comment, but just wanted to give you some feedback about my experience, and your thoughts on the future of this part of your company.

I should love ATi since I live a hour and half aweay from their head quarers, but I have had my share of trouble getting games to work on ATi for too many years. It seems Microsoft has recently endorsed Ati products for the upcoming release of Vista =(

/sigh
