Charlie Demerjian: Will he lose the bet?

Charlie Demerjian from the Inquirer wearing his bunny suit...

Charlie Demerjian recently posted an article on the Inquirer challenging my recent entry on Dell and AMD.

I don't want to get into all the reasons why I disagree with his analysis, but the long story short is just because AMD has X% market share it does not mean that it will equate to the same market share within Dell. :)

So that being said, he challenged me to a bet - and we still haven't figured out what the loser has to do. If you have any suggestions please submit them to Charlie directly over at the Inquirer over here...

Be creative, and be tasteful. This is a family site so we need to ensure that Charlie doesn't wind up in offensive or compromising positions.

Charlie has been wrong many times before, so add this to another of his blunders. He is way out of touch in the AMD-Dell story and needs to wake up for the sake of Inq readers.

Hi rahul, been a while since i posted about a lightweight gaming laptop... you've probably already committed to a core duo notebook supplier, but look at take a look at the panasonic Y4 (www.dynamism.com)

If they can stuff all that in a 3.37lb chassis, i don't know why you guys (or your contracted suppliers) can't make a sub 5lb notebook that has at least an x700/x1600 in it. basically you have 1.63 lbs to fit a tiny mxm or axiom card + heatsink. i bet full sized desktop cards wiegh less than that.

and screw the battery... i'm not playing games anyways unless i'm plugged in. just enough to watch a dvd on a plane thanks.

...and the inquirer has always been a sensasionalist internet news site, so don't expect them to stop any time soon. However, they do raise some good points about amd's supply ability tho. word on wall st. is that dell just cancelled an amd platform being co-developed with asustek

Don't take Charie too serious. He has changed his boss recently, who has no too much understanding for persepctive AMD. Just think about it as someone's the most effective marketing investment
