Any comment on reports that 4x4 will be using some type of Socket F implementation and will come in 3 FX processors all of which have 125W TDPs? Granted AMD and Intel measure TDPs differently, but Kentsfield's 120W TDP doesn't look so bad compared to 2x125W. So much for ridiculous speculation that people could just pop in 35W X2 3800+ EEs.
Also, if 4x4 uses Socket F does that mean you'll need Registered DDR2 memory. That can't be good news considering you're likely limited to DDR2 667 with higher latencies.
Any idea what the TDP of the upcoming 2.4GHz Q6600 Kentsfield will be? With the 2.33GHz E5345 Cloverton coming in at 80W with a 1333MHz FSB something around that TDP would be perfectly reasonable for quad cores. Considering even with AMD's "superior" 65nm process their mainstream quad cores look to have a TDP around there.
Would be interesting to see the fake phd's comments on this i believe he is still waiting for his reverse hyperthreading update with his am2 based computer and will 4x4 it later with a 35W tdp.
I am surprised that Intel allowed this free advertisement for AMD and DELL in the IDF.
When Charlie wrote that DELL would not go AMD article, I told him he was wrong, I told him DELL had to go AMD, but he did not believe it. He is good at IT stuff but bad at financial analysis.
Some of my statements:
"Conroe was the last straw that pushed DELL to AMD.", "DELL went AMD not because Conroe is not good, but because Conroe is good." "Conroe fatally wounded Intel, Kentsfield will BK Intel".

Three gems that will keep me laughing through the rest of the week. Thank you.
I am wondering if his crystal ball is resting atop an AMD mouse pad... All his "predictions" have such a green tinge to them. They used to amuse me but alas that too is waning.
I'm not picking a side, I am a fan of each company and technology for various reasons. I prefer to have a wider vision of my landscape. Each company and technology has its own set of pros and cons, much as OSX vs. Windows. What I do enjoy are various people's perspectives. I quite enjoy Rahul's vision, it inspires me. Whether or not I agree is irrelevant, I admire the scope of his vision.
Cheers.

Charlie, I commend you for holding up your end. Bravo.
Congrats to both of you then, Rahul for the win and to Charlie for being a stand up guy and following through. Top notch.
OK, it's DAMNED funny too. :)
