This is an open letter from Greg Vederman aka "The Vede"
-------------------------------------------------
My name is Greg Vederman. This past Friday I was running PC Gamer magazine as its Editor-in-Chief, and today I’m working at Voodoo/HP as a Business Development Manager. What in the world possessed me to make such a leap…and to not even take a single day off before the transition?!
In a word: Vision
HP has a bold, electrifying vision for the future of PC gaming that I couldn’t help but want to be a part of. Several months ago, Rahul asked me to come aboard and lend a helping hand, and though the decision to do so was not an easy one (choosing to leave a job you’ve poured your heart and soul into for nearly a decade is never easy), it was unequivocally the right one.
I can’t yet go into detail about what we’ve got planned, but suffice it to say, it’s big, and it’s exciting, and it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun for us, but more importantly, for you. Stay tuned!
-Vede

I have known Greg for many years, and somehow I always hoped we would end up working together. Well, the stars finally aligned - and Greg has joined our team working out of the Cupertino office.
On behalf of the entire team at HP Gaming, I would like to welcome Greg Vederman to our team -- Greg will be working on the marketing side reporting directly to Paul Campbell.
As Greg says, stay tuned, we do have many exciting things on the horizon.

Holy S*@# Rahul! Are you serious? I read PC Gamer every month you guys are lucky! Wow!!
Greg, it is %#&^@* outstanding to finally have you aboard! See you in snoopertino...
Greg, good luck at HP, by what I hear I think you made a great decision.
Welcome aboard, bro. :)

Greetings Vede-Bot, glad to have you aboard and looking forward to interfacing.
This is not an open letter; an open letter is a critque from one person to another published to a neutral set of people to add weight and judgment, this is just a PR department hiring blurb.
Also, how can a company that just screws together select parts have an electrifying vision for the future of PC gaming? Surely you have no vision, you are reactionary to other peoples visions?
Sounds like marketing baloney.
The "HP Gaming Team"? You have GOT to be kidding me. What is this new "electric" vision of which Greg speaks? HP doesn't make hardware - they just slap stuff together and ship it out. They aren't inventing anything new.
Rahul, I know this is out context in the current thread. Did Voodoo/your team have anything to do with the design of the HP Virtus series of desktops? They look better than conventional designs (case design w/ body art), which made me curious.
I have to laugh at some of the comments on here (two of them look like the same person wrote them for effect).
Look, Greg Vederman worked at PC Gamer for almost a decade. Do you think he would have left his post of being editor in cheif if he didn't do his research first?
Stay tuned...
I find it rather interesting that these game and hardware reviewers constantly talk about their "objectivity", then invariably wind up working for the the very same developers/publishers/hardware companies they supposedly reviewed so objectively. Am I the only one who's noticed this?
As for the new plan you're helping to develop, Vede, might I make a humble suggestion: how about making affordable Voodoo systems for us poor working slobs, instead of just for the rich clowns who can drop $7 - 15K on a gaming computer?
I'm not really a Voodoo PC fan or anything, but isn't someone like Greg Vederman joining the Voodoo Crew a testament to his belief in Voodoo itself?
I haven't seen other guys from PC Gamer or other mags join Falcon NW or Alienware - maybe I'm out of the loop though?
Well, good luck at your new position Vede, I liked reading your articles at PC Gamer - hopefully you'll have a blast at your new gig! (I've always thought "What could be better than working at a game review magazine?" Making and selling PC's? Ouch - doubtful.)
Hi Vede, welcome abourd HP (OK so I'm a little late in getting this post up, 6 months later). I've read your posts in PCG from the very beginning and am excited to hear that you've joined us at the ranks of HP.
