Get out and vote!

With the economy going the way it is and the election just around the corner, I haven't had much to blog about. This election is probably the most important of our time; I would encourage all my readers to watch the various networks and form an opinion so you can get out and vote. Tomorrow will be a landmark debate; I can't wait for it to happen.

Next week I will be in Seattle so if anyone out there has anything interesting for me to see just drop me a note.

By the way, my hand is still in a cast and so I am using voice dictation still. I figure by the time this is all over, I will continue to use voice dictation test my daily input method.

I'm still waiting for the election that is "not that important".

Every new election brings the "most important election of our time" tagline. While it will eventually be right once - it is hard to listen to this when it is said so repeatably.

Remember Obama's "landmark" speech on race. It was being compared on CNN, CBS, NBC, etc... to Reagan's "tear down this wall", MLK's "I have a dream" speech, Kennedy's "ask not..."

So here we are not more than a few months removed and can anyone remember a SPECIFIC theme or specific line in the speech as it was "historic"?

I'm not trying to bash Obama, just trying to show an example of how the world has evolved into "a prisoner of the moment" mentality where hyperbole reigns supreme and there is a complete and utter lack of perspective.
