Google Nexus One 3G Issues

Hmm, I was doing some research on the Google Nexus One 3G connectivity on Wind Mobile in Canada. It seem that the first version of the phone (the one I have) is designed to support 3G on T-Mobiles 1700MHz network, which is basically the same as Wind Mobiles network. Lots of people are having issues getting reliable 3G connections on the device in North America, so much so that Google finally gave up supporting them, and they could not fix the problem.

It seems that Google blamed the carrier in the US, yet people in Canada are experiencing the exact same problem. It makes me wonder if there isn't more to the story, especially between HTC and Google. To make matters worse Google launched a new version that "works" on 3G on Rogers and AT&T.

That said, my Nexus One is awesome simply because of the voice search feature, but I obviously switched over to a Palm Pre Plus for now. Both the new iPhone and the Sprint EVO look amazing....I just can't wait to see more devices with more flexibility.

Anyone try the first generation Nexus One in North America? Does it support 3G?
