9 Trend Setting Desktops...really?

I just read this article at PC Magazine, it's an interesting piece. Although, when you set a trend, it should mean you created something original iconic...that other people try to emulate? You'd think right? I have four damn good reasons why this article may be missing the point of "trend setting".

Reason #1: HP Blackbird with voodooDNA. This is simply the most aggressive desktop design for a gaming PC ever. We won multiple awards for this system, it's unfortunate that we didn't continue it. It reminds me of what Ford did when they created the Ford GT to beat Ferrari.

Reason #2: HP Firebird with voodooDNA. By far the most forward thinking high performance gaming PC. A computer that uses 1/5th the power of any of its competitors and produces almost as much performance. It's truly an unbelievable PC, and a collector item as above, if you can find it, it's worth holding on to.

Reason #3: Voodoo Omen. This design has over 20 patents on it. Our team spent months of flying between Taiwan, Cupertino, and Calgary developing this amazing piece of technology. The amount of intellectual property on this PC goes back to HP Blackbird.

Reason #4: HP Touchsmart. Though when it was first launched the software build was extremely heavy, it has improved with new form factors and designs. Our team did not create or design Touchsmart, but this was a step in an area that no one dared to go. Creating an All In One PC with multi touch capability. This system has a very interesting history, a neat beginning. I guess we'll see where it goes in the future.

HP Blackbird was the most innovative gaming PC of all time... where's Kanye West when you need him?

As far as "Trend Setting" goes, Team HP Voodoo created some of the best trend setting designs ever. I suppose it may not matter since none of those PCs are currently available. Either way I thought I would share them because I feel our team should be incredibly proud of each and every accomplishment we made. You all did some amazing things! Congratulations!

Here is a blog I created with a number of our recent creations. Even though these are "old" they are timeless, consider that HP Blackbird is over 4 years old now!
